You know how when you get a new car, and then you see that car everywhere you go?
We’re nearly done with the new Block Club, a process that overhauls elements of the magazine’s design and editorial content. (Hang tight. You’ll see it starting April 7.) So of course, what do I see when I check my blogs today?
It’s this awesome post about some of the country’s most famous magazines getting cover upgrades. Note how National Geographic and The New Yorker keep their brands’ integrity intact without changing it too radically, and how Esquire and Vogue get major updates. It’s interesting how branding and marketing play into a magazine’s cover design, and how closely related they are with the art of storytelling and editorial tone.

At least we don’t have Snooki on the next cover. Thank god.
