When Ben recently introduced me to Role Models, a delightful book of autobiographical digression by the talented John Waters, I was immediately drawn to its quirkily illustrated cover art by Eric Hanson.
A Minneapolis-based illustrator, Hanson expertly captures the delightful lunacy that shades the book’s pages. He is Role Model’s visual match, as Hanson’s sketching pencil seems to naturally exude a sense of gleeful eccentricity, even in his gloomier etchings.
See more of Hanson’s work here, or check out his blog for some of the interesting ideas behind his illustrations.
